Meet Fatima Alobeid

Fatma Alobeid is a Junior Associate at Berry Family Law, where she practices exclusively in family law. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and Carleton University, where she earned her Juris Doctor in English Common Law after graduating with High Distinction in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Early Passion & Experience

Fatma discovered her passion for family law while serving as a Family Justice Centre Caseworker with Pro Bono Students Canada. Working under the supervision of family law lawyers, she assisted individuals navigating the family justice system by conducting client intakes, preparing legal forms, and connecting clients with appropriate legal resources. This experience reinforced her commitment to providing compassionate, client-centred advocacy during some of life’s most challenging transitions.

Leadership & Diversity

Throughout law school and her articling term, Fatma held several leadership roles focused on advocacy, equity, diversity, inclusion, and mental health. She served as Vice-President Advocacy for the University of Ottawa Common Law Student Society and as Student Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee during her articling term. Fluent in both English and Arabic, she is committed to providing accessible, responsive, and thoughtful legal services to a diverse range of clients.

Personal Interests

Outside the office, Fatma enjoys visiting her family in Ottawa, exploring Toronto’s neighbourhoods, and catching the latest movies with her CineClub membership.
