Susan Berry
Susan takes pride in having supported hundreds of clients through difficult circumstances throughout the past 16 years, while practising family law. She grew up in Malton and Bramalea, but moved to Oakville in 2007, becoming a partner at Berry Cage LLP in 2014. Susan has settled thousands of divorce cases, litigated when necessary and been very successful when there is no option but a trial. She does not advocate for going to trial unless necessary, but sometimes recognizes that it is necessary. When you are in that situation, let Susan be the strong practical, strategic voice for you in court. Mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and clients are very important to her and are the best way to advance your case. Susan graduated from Osgoode Law School in 2006 and was the recipient of the Albert Weisbrot prize for Advanced Family Law. Following the completion of articling, she was called to the Ontario Bar Association in October 2008. She has appeared and argued cases in front of the Ontario Courts of Justice, the Unified Family Court and the Superior Court of Justice of Canada and been successful in winning trials on issues of parenting, support, and property. Susan's approach to family law is to focus on the best outcome for you and your family. Once a strategic plan is in place, she dedicates herself and her staff to achieve your goal by determining the path that works best for you after factoring in the law, your circumstance and parties involved. Susan's modus operandi is opening with the friendly and pragmatic approach, always looking for the easiest and simplest solutions, but always being ready, willing, and able to fight the good fight if and when necessary. In her personal time, Susan loves to sing, walk, and meditate. She participates in a variety of community festivals and groups. At present, she serves as an Advisor to the Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters.
Hiral Joshi
Hiral approaches family law recognizing that people often reach out to a family lawyer during one of the most stressful periods of their lives. Whether it is a separation, a parenting dispute, or simply figuring out the next steps, she takes the time to listen first and guide each client through the process with practical advice and honest communication. In parenting matters, she focuses on solutions that keep the child’s best interests at the centre while helping families move forward in a healthier way. After completing her LL.B. in India, Hiral earned her Master of Laws in Canadian Common Law and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. She was called to the Ontario Bar in March 2026 and is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C). Before beginning her legal career in Canada, Hiral spent more than four years working in financial advisory roles in India, where she gained experience reviewing financial records and working with complex financial disclosure. That background helps her navigate the financial side of family law, whether it involves property division, support, or pension valuations. She is also currently working toward obtaining her law licence in India. During her articling term, Hiral worked on separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, financial disclosure, and case and settlement conferences. She also gained experience in residential real estate transactions and wills and estates matters. Those experiences strengthened her belief that while some matters require strong advocacy, many families benefit from practical, resolution-focused approaches whenever possible. Outside of her practice, Hiral enjoys painting and playing squash. She also serves with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers as Co-Lead of the Events Sub-Committee within the Mentorship Committee. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.

Upon returning to Canada, he focused on broadening his professional qualifications while gaining practical, hands-on experience within the legal field. Riley
Riley is a 14 year old golden retriever who came to Berry Family Law through a Kijiji ad. Riley’s independent but loving nature was evident throughout his exuberant puppy years, wherein he mastered the art of “selfies” (taking himself on a walk coming back before anyone noticed he was gone), avoiding cats and use of attentive sitting to obtain treats. As a more mature dog, he has learned the difference between rabbits and skunks, when to bark and when not to bark and when he is needed for emotional support. In addition to working at Berry Family Law several days a week, Riley also enjoys long walks in the park, swimming in lake Ontario, and regular visits to the local dog groomers.
